For my latest project, produced as part of my Masters Course, I have become obsessed with the slow yet continual changes in nature. I didn’t want to work in a customary style for my experiments so I have removed the camera completely. Instead my project uses photo sensitive paper in contact with seasonal materials to investigate the imprints left behind. I am allowing natural processes like the weather to impact the resulting image by revealing different parts of the paper during the exposure.
This technique is one of research based practice, allowing for lots of experimentation, trial and error so although the central themes are clear I can not yet say what the visual outcomes of the study will be. I believe that contact with the beauty and serenity of our landscape can enrich our lives and benefit our mental well-being, I hope that these images encourage others to experience that for themselves. |
